Terms of Service

By accessing or using RetroDash ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including room facilitators and participants. By signing in with Google, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

RetroDash is a real-time retrospective platform for Scrum and Kanban teams. It allows authenticated users to:

• Create and manage password-protected retrospective rooms.
• Add, edit, and delete retrospective cards within those rooms.
• Vote on cards created by other participants.
• Assign and track action items.
• View a summary of completed retrospective sessions.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time with or without notice.

To use RetroDash, you must sign in with a Google account. By using the Service, you represent that:

• You are at least 13 years of age (or at least 16 in the European Union).
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
• You will use the Service in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
• Your Google account information is accurate and up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs through it on RetroDash.

You agree to use RetroDash only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:

• Post or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' rooms or accounts.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without prior written permission.
• Transmit malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt or damage the Service.
• Use the Service in a way that places an unreasonable or disproportionate load on our infrastructure.
• Circumvent any security feature, including room passwords or Firestore security rules.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice.

You retain ownership of the content you create on RetroDash (room names, card text, column titles, and action items). By submitting content to the Service, you grant RetroDash a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content solely to operate the Service.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit. You represent that you have all necessary rights to post that content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

Note on anonymous mode: enabling anonymous mode in a room hides your identity in the user interface, but your user ID is stored internally in our database for moderation and voting-rule enforcement. Anonymous mode does not constitute a guarantee of complete anonymity.

The RetroDash name, logo, design, and all platform code, features, and interfaces are the exclusive property of RetroDash and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without express written permission.

Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to use the RetroDash brand, trademarks, or proprietary technology beyond what is strictly necessary to use the Service as intended.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand our data collection, use, and retention practices.

RetroDash relies on third-party services to operate, including:

• Google Sign-In (Firebase Authentication): your use of Google Sign-In is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Firestore (Google LLC): data is stored and processed on Firebase infrastructure subject to Google's terms.
• Vercel Inc.: the application is hosted on Vercel, subject to Vercel's terms of service.

We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of those services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that defects will be corrected; or that the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the Service at your own risk.

We are not responsible for any loss of data, including retrospective cards, action items, or room data, caused by technical failures, user error, or any other reason.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RETRODASH AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $10.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at legal@retrodash.app.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• Post a prominent notice within the RetroDash application.
• Where required by law, notify you by email at least 30 days before changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
